Since 2019, the Em’Arts art gallery has been promoting the work of around twenty artists, offering a curated selection of urban and contemporary art.

Located since the end of 2022 in the heart of Lyon’s Presqu’île, the Em’Arts gallery presents a wide variety of artworks: paintings, sculptures, collages, photographs, prints, and street art books.

Beyond its walls, the gallery also promotes its street artists for mural frescoes and commissioned works.

Britt

Britt is an artist from Lyon. After studying Art History, she followed in her mother’s footsteps as a decorative painter. Alongside this, she began working with posters she found on the streets of Lyon, Genoa, and Paris. For years, she has been making her mark on walls across Lyon and throughout Europe with her little girls — a tribute to Vivian Maier, inspired by the image of a small child. Through these figures, she seeks to raise awareness about women’s and children’s rights, and to open minds to environmental and social issues.

Me Lata (Spain)

Since their beginnings, the Catalan artist duo Me Lata has created more than 700 interventions in the streets of Barcelona, Paris, London, Majorca, Madrid, Girona, La Rioja, and Lyon. Through their use of words and colors, these two lovers of life aim to humanize the city, brighten the hearts of passersby, and make people smile.
Their name, “Me Lata el Corazón”, is a Spanish play on words between “lata” (can), their main medium, and “late el corazón” (the beating heart) — a poetic fusion of material and emotion.

Ememem

Born on a cracked sidewalk in 2016, Ememem is one of those “children of asphalt” with chaos in their veins. By the light of street lamps, he repairs the city — and the hearts of those who walk through it.

To define his distinctive technique, Ememem coined the term “flacking”, now widely used to describe this new art of repairing holes. His colorful “bandages for the pavement” highlight the scars of the urban landscape, bridging street art and contemporary art while echoing the Japanese tradition of kintsugi — the art of repairing by revealing beauty through imperfection.
